Becoming alpaca shepherds is a process of continuing education
and consultation with the expert shepherds in the field.
The learning curve can be very steep if you decided to jump in with
both feet over a couple of weeks, or it can be gradual over a year
or more. We know that by practicing safe, scientific, and modern
care of our alpacas, the returns are alpacas that are healthy with
the finest of fleece, conformation and progeny.

Alpaca Owners Association, Inc. was formed to promote public awareness
and membership education of the alpacas qualities. This
organization manages the national alpaca registry and provides forums for education regarding alpaca
husbandry based upon the health, soundness and productivity
of the alpacas.

alpaca breeders association in the Northern Hemisphere and
home to the oldest alpaca bloodlines in North America.
Wool Testing Labs has been in business since 1964 as an independently
owned, commercial wool testing lab located in Denver, Colorado.

Research Foundation - The Alpaca Research Trust was established
by the ARI Board of Directors in December, 1997 as a Colorado, non-profit
corporation for charitable, educational and scientific purposes.
The Board of Directors, of what is now known as the Alpaca Research
Foundation, is composed of a select group of camelid veterinarians,
research scientists and medical professionals. Their job is to establish
